According to the Public Relations Department of Sharif University of Technology, at the ceremony honoring and awarding the first scientific prize named after Qutb al-Din al-Shirazi, the precious book "Tuhfat al-Shahiya" by Qutb al-Din al-Shirazi was unveiled, and the scientific achievements of Professor Yousef Sobouti, a prominent physicist of Iran, were appreciated.
This event, which focused on astronomy and astrophysics and was attended by a group of officials, academics, astronomers, and physicists from Iran and abroad, saw the awarding of the first Qutb al-Din al-Shirazi Scientific Prize to Dr. Sohrab Rahvar, a professor of physics and a member of the cosmology group at Sharif University of Technology.
The Iranian Astronomical Society, after a thorough review of the outstanding scientific and research activities of researchers in the fields of astronomy, astrophysics, and cosmology in the country, considering their scientific commitments, international collaborations, and ethical reputation, selected Dr. Rahvar as the first recipient of the Qutb al-Din al-Shirazi Prize.
It is worth mentioning that the cultural and scientific heritage of the country, under the supervision of the Iranian Astronomical Society, has defined the Qutb al-Din al-Shirazi Prize with the aim of promoting the introduction of prominent figures and celebrities, encouraging individuals, supporting research activities and researchers in the field of astronomy and astrophysics, and promoting science and research achievements.
