SUT Faculty Member Article on the Cover of Analytica Chimica Acta Journal

An article (Paper-based optical nanosensors) by SUT member from the department of chemistry, Dr. M. RezaHormozi-Nezhad and his research group was selected for the cover of Analytica Chimica Acta journal. This journal is currently one of the most prominent journals in the analytical chemistry field.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), ideal sensors should be cost-effective, sensitive, selective, user- eco-friendly, fast, without the need for equipment, and portable. Due to their low cost, convenient usage, and portability, as well as biocompatibility, they are crucially important to the in-situ detection of various chemical, biochemical, and environmental analyses.

The Paper-based optical sensors have met most of these criteria. Optical PADs are sensitized to various analyses with a wide range of sensing elements such as organic and inorganic dyes and luminescent and colored nanostructures. The outstanding physical and chemical properties of nanostructures, intense signals, and tunable optical properties make them ideal for many sensing platforms, including paper-based platforms.
