
Students from the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at Sharif University of Technology have secured the championship title at the Petrocup Middle East competition, earning one gold and one silver medal.
Petrocup is an annual international competition in the oil and gas sector, where engineering teams compete by designing and developing virtual oil fields in a realistic simulation environment.
At the Middle East regional round held on October 21–22, Sharif University’s first team—comprising Aria Siefali, Zolkin Zadeh, Azam Karimi Arpanahi, Farshad Jafari, Hossein Khairallahi, Farzad Kamali, Mohammadreza Khalidian, Behnam Fallah, and Behnam Nikoomaram—claimed first place.
A second team from the same department, including Behrad Balakhari Ghahi, Parsa Rezaei, Abuzezar Abdollahi, Armin Omrani, Mohaddeseh Ghannbari Masir, and Seyed Hossein Marashi, earned second place in the competition.
Teams from Khalifa University (UAE), Sultan Qaboos University (Oman), Mehran University (Pakistan), as well as the University of Tehran and Shiraz University also participated in the Middle East league of Petrocup.
