
A research team from Sharif University of Technology has successfully published a peer-reviewed review article in the internationally recognized Elsevier journal Advances in Colloid and Interface Science.
The paper, titled “Comprehensive Review of Droplet Impact Dynamics on Liquid Surfaces: Experimental and Numerical Investigations of Momentum, Mass, and Heat Transfer,” was carried out by researchers from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sharif University.
According to the university’s public relations office, the study provides a detailed synthesis of scientific research on how liquid droplets interact with liquid surfaces — a subject of increasing importance across a range of industrial applications. The article systematically reviews experimental methods, numerical simulations, and theoretical models related to momentum, mass, and heat transfer during droplet impacts in various regimes.
The research was led by Dr. Mohamad Ali Bijarchi and Dr. Mohammad Behshad Shafii, with contributions from Shahin Faghiri, Parham PourEslami, Mikail Minai, Shahin Akbari, Mohammadreza Asadi, and Javad Ranjbar Kermani.
Advances in Colloid and Interface Science is ranked among the top Q1 journals in the fields of colloid science, physics, and chemistry, with a high impact factor reflecting significant influence in the global scientific community.
The publication highlights Sharif University’s ongoing contributions to research on fluid dynamics and complex interfacial phenomena, strengthening its presence in leading international scientific literature.
