Dr. Hamidreza Rabiee, professor of artificial intelligence in the Computer Engineering Department and head of the Data Science and AI Innovation Center at Sharif University of Technology, has been selected as a full member of the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform. The appointment was announced by the university's public relations office and made by COMSTECH, the OIC's Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
The OIC-15 Dialogue Platform is designed to bring together top experts from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's most technologically advanced member states. Its core mission is to explore practical ways to deepen cooperation on emerging technologies and innovation — moving beyond mere infrastructure to tackle technology governance, policy frameworks, and long-term strategies for science-driven sustainable development.
The expert group's agenda will address a range of critical topics, including artificial intelligence and IT's role in digital transformation, cybersecurity, healthcare systems, education, and industrial automation. Through sustained dialogue, the platform aims to identify shared priorities, launch joint research programs, and build stronger scientific networks across the OIC region.
The first coordination meeting of this specialized committee is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
