Dr. Mousavi, the President of Sharif University of Technology, accompanied by the esteemed Minister of Science, Dr. Simayee Sarraf, pursued the issuance of a permit to establish a branch of Sharif University in Baghdad during the Iran-Iraq Science Week in Karbala from January 17 to January 19, 2025.
During this visit, negotiations were held regarding the dispatch of Iraqi elite students to study at Sharif University of Technology. Additionally, cooperation agreements with various Iraqi universities, including Karbala University and Kufa University, were extended. Efforts were made to develop collaboration in technology and innovation, with negotiations for establishing a science and technology park with Baghdad University.
The delegation visited Kafeel, Ameid, Zahra (S), Warith Al-Anbiyaa, and Karbala universities and held discussions with the presidents of other universities, including Farahidi. Approximately 30 university presidents and research institute directors from Iran, along with a similar number from Iraq, participated in this visit.
