In a bid to foster international academic ties, a high-level delegation from the University of Baghdad visited Sharif University of Technology in Tehran on Sunday, engaging in discussions to expand joint collaborations in education, research, and technology.
According to reports from Sharif University of Technology's public relations office, the Iraqi delegation, led by Dr. Baha Ansaf and including deputies and managers, toured the campus and its associated science and technology park. The visitors gained insights into the university's extensive capabilities in various fields.
The program commenced with a warm welcome at the educational building by Dr. Arjmand, Vice President and Deputy for Education and Postgraduate Studies. He provided an overview of Sharif University's history, its prominent scientific standing, and its achievements in education, research, and technology.
Following the introduction, the delegation explored several key laboratories, including the social cognitive robotics lab, control lab, nanobiotechnology lab, 3D printer workshop, and micro-nano systems lab. They received detailed briefings on the ongoing activities and innovations at these facilities.
The tour continued to the Sharif Technology Tower, the Innovation Zone, and various knowledge-based companies housed there. Highlights included the Bentec Technology Tower, Box complex, and Sharif Innovation Station, where technological products and company operations were showcased.
Further visits encompassed the university's technology services complex, central laboratory, entrepreneurship center, accelerator teams, and specialized labs in the faculties of chemical and petroleum engineering and electrical engineering. The delegation was impressed by the advanced capacities demonstrated.
The visit culminated in a consultative meeting attended by Dr. Tajrishy, President of Sharif University of Technology, along with science and technology park managers and members of the strategic council for international affairs. Both sides deliberated on potential avenues for scientific, research, laboratory, and technological partnerships between the two institutions.
